Alison Arbeau

Communications Content Lead

As a member of Genome Canada’s communications team, Ali helps execute the organization’s communications content strategy with a focus on digital strategy and engagement. She brings more than six years of government communications and public engagement experience to the role, most recently at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat. Ali has worked on various social policy files including the Criminal Justice System Review Secretariat and the Opioid Response Team, leading on strategic communications, writing for the web and social media, stakeholder and partner relations and in person and online public consultations.

Ali is also a 300 + hour certified yoga teacher who teaches classes at local Ottawa yoga studios, and on yoga teacher trainings abroad. She is a passionate advocate for inclusivity and representation in yoga and fitness, especially for members of racialized and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. She previously served on the board of directors at the Ottawa based non-for-profit, Warrior Yoga.

Ali holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences with a double major in sociology and communications from the University of Ottawa.
