Andrew Stephens is a seasoned oil and gas executive with 35+ years of experience with Suncor and predecessor companies. When Andrew retired from Suncor in January 2012, he was Senior Vice-President, Business Services reporting to the CEO and President. In this role, he led Suncor’s information, supply chain and field logistics services. As a member of the Executive Team, Mr. Stephens also contributed to the strategic leadership of the Company.

Mr. Stephens began his career in 1977 as a Process Engineer with Gulf Oil Canada at the Port Moody refinery. After joining Petro-Canada as a Project Engineer in 1979, Mr. Stephens held senior leadership roles in the Upstream, Downstream and Shared Services areas. He was appointed an Officer of Petro-Canada in 1993.

Mr. Stephens holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta and is an ICD.D.

Mr. Stephens has served on the Board and as President of the Youth Science Foundation, and is a past Chair and Honourary Member of the Energy Council of Canada. He is the past Chair of Genome Alberta and is the Chair of the Beverage Container Management Board.
